Project description

The 4 window axes comprehensive section was rebuilt in mid-50s under the direction of Prof. Paul Schmitthenner for the Bavarian State Bank.
The renovation in 2010-11 included the facades with window units to Odeonsplatz and the courtyard and inside the building, the bank areas, the foyer and stairwells.

For the painting of the facade the ocre tone has been specially mixed and matched the adjacent buildings. The metal surfaces of the windows and doors on the ground floor and the fittings were prepared by a decorative metalworker. The box windows on the upper floor could be obtained and were moderately repaired by a carpenter and in the original color (dark green) repainted (also applies courtyard side). The bricked-up Occhuli over the arched windows were rebuilt.

The sculptures and cornices were remodeled or repaired. The sheet metal flashings of the gable arches and cornices were renewed in natural copper without painting (also applies courtyard side). In the former cash room of the bank the window was replaced and precisely matched with the profiles of the other windows. The box office area, the offices, the entrance hall and the staircase were renovated according to findings from the 50s. Details like lamps or handrils were restored.
