Similar to constructions in the mountains, buildings on the waterfront are constructions in borderline situations. But the way to achieve the building is exciting. Familiar environment has to be left to discover something new. A risk - as well as to build in a empirical way with new resources. A particular situation requires a particular architecture. The stilt is a special architecture, as it moors only with the essentials of the subsoil and floats much rather above the terrain.
Using the example of establishing an information pavilion in the shoreline of the Hintere Insel Lindau in the Bodensee is developed a pile-supported building type is planned in timber construction.
The building is planned for about 100 people and serves mainly the exhibition. Incidentally, a meeting room for classes and educational groups will be offered as well as a small bar for refreshments, a detachable multi-purpose room for events and film presentation and a shop in connection with the cash register.
The wooden structure is based on a three-dimensional framework and timber frame construction for the exterior walls with a wickerwork as the outer shell and hollow box ceilings. Ceilings and walls can be largely prefabricated.
